Working at Journey is about so much more than a career–it’s a calling. At Journey, our dedicated team members are the lead stakeholders in Journey’s mission, vision and values. We are passionate about creating compelling and irresistible environments where people—especially the unchurched—want to come back week after week. As this happens, we have an opportunity to lead them into a growing relationship with Jesus Christ.
Our team members take on an extraordinary level of responsibility, but we also have fun together and enjoy doing life and ministry together. Every role at Journey plays an important and critical part in the amazing story that God is writing through our church!
Staff Culture and Values:
Our staff culture is built around six essential values that describe the working environment at Journey:
Apprenticing means that you teach someone else to do what you do. Success cannot be achieved without succession. Because of what is at stake, we are committed to perpetually mentoring and releasing others to do what we do.
Excellence means giving your very best in everything you do, because excellence honors God and inspires others.
Hospitality means we are to serve people and create environments to help them toward a growing relationship with Jesus Christ. Our goal is to exceed the expectations of those we serve and pay attention to even the smallest detail. We go above and beyond what is required of us.
Humility is about the heart and the attitude that we show to others. It means putting others before yourself. We don’t demand our own way; we yield our own interests for the greater good and for the agreed upon direction our leadership has chosen.
Reliability means doing everything in your power to fulfill your role. It means doing what you say you will do, showing up on time and being fully prepared.
Teamwork means that there are no superstars at Journey. Each of us serves a vital part in creating environments for people to pursue their relationship with Jesus Christ. We work together as a unified team toward our stated purpose. Those around you should sense your positive attitude toward Journey and those with whom you serve.
If you feel called to ministry and would like to be part of our staff, consider whether your gifts and abilities match one of our available positions.
